Knit Stitch is about crafting with beautiful materials and providing a welcoming space that inspires creativity, self-expression and community. And hopefully having fun along the way!
Knit Stitch began in October of 2013 as a yarn and fiber shop on Richmond Row in London Ontario, and with the recent move to a bigger and brighter space, the shop has expanded into fabric, sewing and quilting. The new space will allow a range of inspiring and empowering crafting classes with a sewing studio downstairs, and lots of room for hand crafts like knitting and crocheting on the main floor.
The yarn is primarily natural fibers with a lot of independent hand dyers, like the recently added Lichen and Lace and Hedgehog Fibers, and the always inspiring Madelinetosh and Sweet Georgia Fiber, coupled with quality yarns from Rowan, Cascade, Noro and Malabrigo to name a few. The fabrics are predominantly modern, from lines like Cotton + Steel, Art Gallery, Cloud 9 and Birch Organics, rounded out by Kona Solids for quilting and a selective range of canvas, knits, flannel and chambray for garment and accessory sewing.
The vision for Knit Stitch is of a creative and welcoming place to gather, learn, share, shop and just be inspired.
