Punch Needle Rug Hooking
- Cost: $60.00 plus HST
- Teacher: Alisa McRonald
- Dates: Saturday November 17 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm
Punch needle is the craft of the moment! Come join us for a fun exploration of this simple rug hooking technique. We’ll go through creating a design and transferring it to your cloth, but feel free to bring any designs that inspire you. You can turn your design into a table mat or into a cushion, or just put it into a simple embroidery frame for display on the wall.
The class will use traditional Monk’s Cloth stretched over an embroidery hoop. We’ll have lots of bulky yarn to use, but feel free to bring any that you’ve got at home that you’d like to use in your design.
Knit Stitch will have the Amy Oxford Punch Needles available for purchase. These are truly beautiful, ergonomic and well made tools. You can also find punch needles for purchase through Etsy or Amazon.
- Skill Level: Beginner
- Materials Required: Students should supply their own punch needle (#10 Amy Oxford needle recommended) and non slip embroidery hoop (10 inch or 25cm recommended), which can be purchased at Knit Stitch. A selection of yarn and Monk's cloth will be supplied.
